About the Owner
I am so excited to bring a brand new music school to the Hanover area! As a native of Hanover County and a graduate of Atlee High School, I have deep roots in this community. I studied vocal performance and music education at Virginia Commonwealth University where I graduated Magna Cum Laude with a bachelor’s degree in music education and then followed that with a master’s degree in music education. I spent a season as a member of the Richmond Symphony Orchestra and taught private voice and piano lessons for 4 years. I have just finished my last year as a public school music teacher after 14 years! Most recently, I was the choral director at Chickahominy Middle School. Over the last 13 years at CMS, I successfully led my choirs to achieving Superior ratings on numerous occasions at varying assessments and competitions and have impacted hundreds of students. I am very passionate about music and young people, and I am really looking forward to continuing to inspire and change lives through music at Thrive Music Academy!
